Student Privacy Notice
Last updated: 13 September 2026
This page explains what happens to your information when you use Erlo Learning.
We've written it to be easier to understand than our full Privacy Policy. If anything is unclear, ask a parent, guardian or another trusted adult.
What information do we have about you?
Please don't give us personal information that isn't needed for your learning.
- Your email address and username.
- Questions you practise and answers you give.
- Marks, percentages, mastery, XP and streaks.
- Messages you send to the AI Tutor.
- Images of schoolwork you choose to upload.
- Whether you have a Free or Pro account.
- Basic technical information needed to keep Erlo working and secure.
Why do we use this information?
We use your information to make Erlo Learning work, show your progress, recommend useful practice and allow the AI Tutor to answer your questions and understand an ongoing conversation.
How does personalised practice work?
Erlo can look at previous practice results to work out which Maths skills may need more practice.
A skill might be shown as Weak, Developing, Secure or Mastered. These are not official GCSE grades and are not automatically sent to your school or exam board.
What happens when I use the AI Tutor?
Information from your message may be sent to an AI provider so it can create a response.
AI can sometimes get things wrong. If something is important or you are unsure, check it with your teacher, a trusted adult or another reliable learning resource.
What happens when I upload a photo?
- Try not to include your full name.
- Avoid showing your school name, address or phone number.
- Do not include someone else's private information.
- Only upload what is needed for the Maths question.
Do you sell or advertise with my information?
No. We do not sell your personal information and do not currently use your learning information to show you targeted advertising.
Who helps us run Erlo?
- Supabase — accounts and databases.
- OpenAI — AI Tutor and AI learning features.
- Stripe — payments and Pro subscriptions.
- Vercel — website hosting.
- Railway — backend services.
Who can see my learning information?
Your account information and learning history are designed to be private to your account. Other Erlo students cannot normally see your practice results, Tutor conversations, XP or mastery information.
Can I delete my information?
You can delete Tutor conversations using available features.
You can ask us about deleting your account and personal information by emailing erlolearning@gmail.com.
What if I'm under 13?
