Information for Parents & Guardians
Last updated: 13 September 2026
Erlo Learning is an online learning platform designed to help students practise GCSE Maths, receive instant feedback, use an AI Tutor and track progress over time.
The service is currently intended for students aged 13 and over.
What students can do on Erlo
- Complete personalised Maths practice.
- Receive automated marking and feedback.
- View worked solutions.
- Ask questions to an AI Tutor.
- Upload photographs of schoolwork.
- Track mastery across skills.
- Earn XP and maintain learning streaks.
How the AI Tutor works
The Tutor uses artificial intelligence to respond to educational questions. AI can make mistakes, so Erlo should be treated as a study aid rather than a replacement for a teacher or official examination-board resource.
AI marking
AI-generated marks are for practice only and are not official GCSE marks.
Personalised learning
Erlo uses previous practice results to help suggest what may be useful to practise next. Skills may be described as Weak, Developing, Secure or Mastered. These are not official grades.
Student accounts and age
Erlo is currently intended for students aged 13 and over. Users under 13 should not create their own account at this time.
Paid Pro subscriptions should be purchased by someone aged 18 or over.
What information Erlo processes
- Email address and username.
- Practice attempts, answers, marks and percentages.
- Skills, mastery, XP and streaks.

Is student information sold?
No. Erlo Learning does not sell student personal information and does not currently use student learning data for targeted advertising.
Does Erlo share results with schools?
Not as part of the current service. Erlo does not currently automatically send a student's practice results, mastery information or Tutor conversations to their school, teacher or examination board.
Can parents view their child's activity?
Erlo does not currently provide a separate parent monitoring dashboard. A parent's payment for Pro does not automatically create unrestricted access to a student's private Tutor history.
How parents can help
- Encourage students to keep passwords private.
- Avoid unnecessary personal information in Tutor messages.
- Crop names and school information from uploaded work.
- Check important AI-generated answers.
- Follow school rules about AI.
- Avoid using AI to cheat in assessments.
- Speak to a trusted adult if something worries them.
Student safety
Students must not use Erlo for seriously harmful or illegal activity, harassment, fraud, unauthorised access or inappropriate sexual content involving children.
Erlo is not an emergency or crisis service. If a child is in immediate danger in the UK, contact 999 or 112.
